A Days Creative Play
Apron on, my music is loud, rocking blues, and soulful voices are bellowing out my studio door.
My paint palette is full of freshly mixed colours, chosen at random; I like the surprise when an unexpected colour pops out of my work.
Today’s tool of choice is a long, flat palette knife; it picks up the paint- a little bit of this and a little bit of that.
The Autumn reds and greens in the trees outside my studio window inspire me. gorgeous colour
The palette knife glides across the canvas; a rainbow of colour appears. I scratch back to create an interesting effect of texture and depth.
I’m playing; there’s no agenda here. Just relying on how I feel, letting my intuition guide me.
Memories of life begin to surface. I’m exploring campsites, creeks and rivers for driftwood. Where have they been, so toned, with colourful textures and beautiful shapes?
There’s a story in there: the journey of the driftwood, with the sand and rocks it has collected along the way. What tree did she come from?
A few more layers of paint on the canvas; a story is taking shape; there is history.
